JML Coaching
Leadership clarity starts with one honest conversation
About JML Coaching
Growth and change rarely arrive on a clean schedule. JML Coaching helps rising and senior leaders work through those moments with clearer communication, healthier teams, and steadier confidence in their own judgment. I work with leaders across sectors, with particular experience in nonprofits, educational institutions, and other mission-driven organizations.
My approach is grounded in connection, curiosity, and growth. I start with your current goals, build on your strengths, and develop strategies you can actually sustain. Good coaching takes the whole person seriously, not just the role. What you've lived through and what you're carrying both show up in how you lead.
I also bring experience working with neurodiverse leaders and with those who want their teams to support a wider range of thinking and communication styles.
My goal is simple: help you lead with clarity and steady focus.
Meet Your Coach
My Approach: My coaching style is reflective and direct. I listen carefully, ask honest questions, and work with both the head and the heart. My role is to offer perspective, help you see what you might be missing, and support you in moving forward with clarity.
My Path to Coaching: For more than 25 years, I've led people through change in higher education. What I've come to believe is that the hardest leadership work isn't strategy. It's listening carefully, helping people stay grounded, and moving forward together when the ground is shifting.
I am currently Dean of Extended University and Digital Learning at California State University Channel Islands, where I lead a team of more than 30 and a $10M portfolio. I stepped into the role at a time of organizational strain, and much of my work since has been about rebuilding trust and helping people find their footing.
I live in Camarillo, California, and spend time outside of work with family and friends, swimming, and skiing. I hold a Ph.D. from UC Santa Barbara, a Hudson Executive Coaching Certificate, and am a member of the International Coaching Federation.

Why Coaching with Jill?
“Working with Jill came at the perfect time for me. During our twelve sessions, I was navigating a new role, my manager had just moved on, and my new manager was new to leadership. It was a lot to manage, and having Jill’s support truly made a difference. She is incredibly approachable and insightful, with a gift for breaking things down so they feel completely achievable. Every concept she shared was simple, clear, and actionable, and the tools she gave me helped me build confidence quickly. Honestly, having Jill available to me during that transition was life changing. I highly recommend her coaching. Her style is adaptable, supportive, and genuinely helpful for people at any stage in their career.”

Jill's coaching style is highly effective and impactful. She creates a very welcoming environment that immediately fosters trust, yet she is equally willing to challenge assumptions and push boundaries. Her questions often make me stop, reflect, and unlock completely new ways of thinking. I consistently achieve actionable insights during our sessions. I highly recommend Jill if you are looking for a coach who will meet you with warmth while guiding you toward significant personal and professional breakthroughs.
